Eagle Research Associates limits itself to the Internet Investment Scam arena. We do not get into other areas of business offerings such as: Work –from-Home, MLM/Network Marketing, Lottery, or Illegal Pyramid Schemes. There are professionals in these markets with whom we partner with to provide you expert advice.
Every once-in-a-while we do come across something that we feel is so blatant we must warn our visitors to our website about. This is such a time.
There is a new MLM program being offered which we believe is operating as an illegal pyramid scheme. The name of this program is MPBToday. Their marketing pitch is if you join their program, you will never have to buy groceries again. Now they are claiming not only will you not ever have to buy groceries again, but you will have free gas for life. This is also a 2x2 matrix program which means you have to have 2 people sign up under you, and they in turn must get 2 people to join, requiring 6 people in your group/unit for you to cycle and be paid.
The Amway case of the 1970’s established what constitutes a legal MLM company versus an illegal pyramid scheme. In the ruling by the Supreme Court, they said for an MLM Program to be legal company required 70% of your income must be derived from retail product sales to actual customers, not from referral commissions or sign-up fees. In the mid-90’s an appeals court ruled those in your MLM down-line, or distributors, could not count towards your retail sales, and you must have at least 10 retail customers to qualify as retail sales. MPBToday does not meet these requirements. All income is derived from signing up new members into the program, with little or no retail sales.
You should also know for your grocery order you must pay shipping charges, and they admit those charges could add 25% to 50% to the cost of your grocery order, and you also cannot purchase any non-perishable goods.
We also believe the members are using misleading, false, and deceptive advertising in presenting this opportunity to the public to entice people to join. It is not our intent here to go into the compensation plan or the other details of their program, but to point out the two most critical issues that make a MLM program legal are not being complied with by MPBToday.
As we do with any investment program we ask you to thoroughly check out the opportunity before joining. Do your due diligence very carefully regarding MPBToday, and do not just take the word of members saying they have cycled as proof this is legitimate.
Therefore we highly recommend you do not join this program.
